Grandma

Recently retrieved from an old computer, this is a selfie I took of my grandma and myself. Sometimes I got tired of trying to find new ways to respond to the same old stories (retold numerous times in one sitting), but we really did have good times together. I love how this photo captures that, as well as the classic Grandma smirk.

I wrote about Grandma on my blog here, here, and here, and shared Mom's remarks from Grandma's memorial service here.

    1. Thanks, Thomas! I thought I had deleted the photo long ago, so was very happy to rediscover it.

  2. Thank you for putting these writings together. Your experience of her over time helps deepen the feelings you express.
And the line "a blessed conspiracy: glory, glory, hallelujah!" is so powerful. That image of you singing with your grandmother this tune as a blessed conspacy will help me sing out with joy every Sunday. It is the singing that matters. Thank you.
