When the world folds
in swirls, like stirred paint,
or tilts, suddenly, as seen
through a prism, we stagger.
In swirls, like stirred paint,
our thoughts circle in and in
through a prism. We stagger.
White words broken to colors,
our thoughts circle in and in,
turned to pictures and symbols:
white words broken to colors
and caught in an altar cloth,
pictures and symbols
tilted, suddenly as seen,
and caught in the altar cloth,
when the world folds.
Pantoum! Bravissima!
ReplyDeleteI love the image of "white words broken to colors" -- that's very good! And the form seems to suit your theme.
Thank you! (The computer ate my first attempt to reply some time ago). One thing I tried to catch a bit in this is what happens when we feel overwhelmed and our "left brain" dims, allowing our "right brain" functions to take up the slack.
DeleteLOVE this, Elena. What a perfect image of the swirling mind . . .
ReplyDeleteThank you--I'm glad the image made sense to you. It did to me--but it's very nice to know it translated outside of my own head!
