Walk the rails under a high blue sky. Find the sag in the leaning fence, and step--carefully--over rusted wire. Follow a peninsula of blond grasses through a lake of loam, and come, at last, to the timber's edge where gray branches trace the sky and rose hips curl near purple canes.

Mom and Dad
In honor and remembrance of my parents' wedding day 37 years ago, here are several of my favorite pictures of Mom and Dad. (Copied from the family photo collection with permission :)
In the wedding photograph, your mom looks like a famous actress, whose name eludes me at the moment! And in the handful of photos I've seen of your dad, he is always smiling!
I think I like the middle photograph best, as it features snow, flowers, and (I'm guessing) coffee!

You're right, HyVee (local chain grocery store) coffee! Dad had a great smile. In my biased opinion, mom has always been a striking woman :)
DeleteThese are lovely, Elena. I know it's a sweet thing to have photos like this.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Beth! Yes, I was quite pleased to have access to this trio of pictures.
